For courses of up to and including 4 weeks and 6 days:

Where an international student withdraws up to the end of the second day after the start of the course for which attendance at Regent is required, Regent will retain 50% of the full amount of any payments made by the student or the student’s consultant to Regent in respect of the course; and will refund the balance to the student or the student’s consultant; unless two days constitutes the full amount of tuition paid for by the student, in which case Regent will retain 100% of the payment made in respect of the course.

For courses of 5 weeks or more but less than 3 months:

Where an international student withdraws up to the end of the fifth day after the start of the course for which attendance at Regent is required, Regent will retain 25% of the full amount of any payments made by the student or the student’s consultant to Regent in respect of the course; and will refund the balance to the student or the student’s consultant.

Students who withdraw before the course commences will also be subject to the above criteria.

If the course is of 3 months duration or more and the withdrawal occurs up to the end of the tenth working day after the first day on which the PTE requires the student to attend the establishment:

Regent will deduct up to 25 percent of the fees paid.

If, and only if, satisfied that the student withdrew from the course up to the end of the tenth working day after the first day of the course for which attendance of students at Regent was required, Regent shall pay the remaining amount to the student:

If, and only if, satisfied that the student did not withdraw from the course up to the end of the tenth working day after the first day of the course for which attendance of students at Regent was required, the person shall (as the case requires) pay the amount held to Regent, or hold it for the Regent’s creditors.

Students who withdraw before the course commences will also be subject to the above criteria.

Refund if student visa application is declined:

 

  1. If the student visa application is declined, prior to the start of the programme, a fee of $ 300 as the administration fee and fees paid to other parties on behalf of the student will be deducted and the balance amount will be refunded to the student.
  2. When a student applies for extension of student visa for an already enrolled programme in Regent and if the visa is declined by Immigration New Zealand for any reason then:
    1. The fee paid for previous study period will not be refunded; and
    2. The refund of the fee paid for the remaining period of study will be considered on a case by case basis.

Withdrawals by students outside of the timeframe established by legislation and the corresponding refunds:

  1. When a student voluntarily withdraws from the course outside of the periods established above, then there will be no refund of any fee paid;
  2. If a student is expelled from the course there will be no refund of any fee paid unless the termination of enrolment has occurred within the legal refund period, then the standard refund policy as outlined by Education Act 1989 will be applicable;
  3. If a student has to withdraw due to any unexpected events (including medical), then there will be no refund of any fee paid. The student may consider approaching the insurance company to see if he/she is eligible for a refund of the unused fee for the unexpected situation which impacts the individual learning plan.
